SSH Host Key Change Detection
SSH Host Key Detection is used to inform you that host keys of the server are changed. A host key is changed in these scenarios:
- Remote server (that might be on the same remote IP) can be a completely different host
- This might be a man-in-the-middle atack
- Host key might be changed manually
- The server might be re-installed, thus a new host key is configured
As this might not be a threat, if you get alert from Onlayer, be sure that you are aware of the host key change. If you didn’t change the host key, check your servers and be sure that there is no man-in-the-middle attack.
